Pub lottery

When it is considered safe to do so, a lottery system could be put in place in order for pubs to progressively re-open.
Pubs could provide a newsletter on their websites to which people could subscribe. When chosen the applicant would receive an e-mail allowing their household to access the pub together, a +1 could perhaps be considered.
A similar system could be applied to various public spaces.

Why the contribution is important

To allow pubs to get back into business whilst avoiding a rush of customers.

Too complex to run and monitor. If pubs safe to open, then open with reduced capacity it’s, say. In Spain, outdoor locations will soon open with 30% capacity, for example.

This is not a good idea. Pubs with open spaces should be allowed to open up earlier and 60% of the fire code occupancy would be a good guide to use.

Fair enough! This is obviously just an idea that could definitely be improved. Our thought behind this proposal is that it would perhaps help avoiding queues outside such places. People would go assured that they could get in rather than waiting outside for the space to be emptier.
