Public ask questions at daily briefings.

Give members of the public the opportunity to ask questions at the daily briefings.

Journalists often ask virtually the same questions as each other and repeat them the following day just in different words.

Why the contribution is important

The briefing is a real opportunity to show that you are listening to the person sitting af home. Show that you connect on a more personal level. We are not all thinking about or only concerned with the recurring themes the journalists raise.

UK government invites public to submit questions. Not seen this happen in Scotland. Would be good to have the same opportunity in Scotland.

I agree, questions from the public would give the FM a better view of the general public concerns/ feelings, not a bias journalist looking to score points.

Would hinge on questions being vetted in some way to ensure they are appropriate. There would be no point if the questions only relate to one individual's concerns that cannot be answered by FM. Questions need to be relevant to a wider section of the public. I agree it shows politicians are listening to and have an accountability to the public. There are some people out there with really good ideas too that should be heard.

Great idea. Would help us the public engage more in the decissions and disscusions that after all are affecting each and every one of us. And also help the first minister and the pannel to cover more ground more efficently. And surely would be a better use of evryones time and effort.
