Public toilets

Public toilets should be fitted with swing doors that have metal kick plates at the bottom for opening. The toilet flushes should all be automatic as should the taps and soap dispensers. No pump dispensers for hand creams any more.
Every second cubicle shut off to the public. Limited persons into the facility. Automatic hand driers best for hygiene also. (Please no more pulling round the roll of hand towel on the dispenser)

Why the contribution is important

Helps stops cross infection through touching door handles, flush mechanism handle or taps for switching the water off.

The only issue left would be the cubicle door handle but loo roll could be used to open and dropped into the toilet.

Are there any public toilets still open? Makes sense to me even if we did not have the virus to fight.

I think you'll find that paper towels are far more hygienic than automatic hand dryers!

Debate on the automatic hand driers versus the hand towels.. some one has to load the hand towels, others can grab them while getting their own and leave them for the next person.
The fast drying, Mitsubishi type hand driers are quite good as you put your hands in the middle of them , not touching the sides.. might be easier if these were slightly wider though so agree with that point...

I think the availability of clean public toilets is a key enabler for people to feel comfortable about going out socially in the future. If pubs and restaurants are not open, what facilities could people use?
