Pubs and restaurants

Pubs and restaurants must open as quickly as possible. They are part of the community and can adapt by introducing spaced tables like our Scandinavian members.
If we do not open them soon, many businesses in the hospitality sector will be in danger.

Why the contribution is important

Pubs and restaurants make people feel have something to look forward to.
Not having something to look forward to - and being stuck in lockdown - is damaging for people's wellbeing and mental health.

Agreed - such business are not just important economically. They provide an important social function. They should be allowed the opportunity to find was to deliver their services in a proportionately safe way. Those with outdoor space eg could capitalise on this in the summer months. It latitude was given via licensing relaxations (including for pavement use) this could provide further safe opportunities.

sorry I cannot agree on this, now is not the time for opening them, if they can provide some sort of delivery service then fine but otherwise should remain closed, Look at what impact early opening in the USA has had in the increase of the virus and deaths

Sorry, it is not the right time to open pubs as it would be virtually impossible to adhere to social distancing. It is not a sport so not good for the body, and it’s questionable if it’s good for well being.
