Question tourists at the Scottish border to question why they are travelling to Scotland

Now that those down south have decreed that English citizens are allowed to drive and travel, there is a danger they will all flood up to Scotland as the one place they think they are able to go on holiday, bringing more contagion with them. In particular obvious travellers with campervans etc should be stopped and questioned. (I write this having both an English partner and a campervan, so not out of prejudice, just fear.)
It shouldn't come to this, but could be a life-saving exercise. If publicised enough, there might not be too many to question...?

Why the contribution is important

It was travel that spread this virus in the first place; the more people can stay local, the more chance there is of achieving virus-free pockets. The Prime Minister's words tonight will not have helped and those down south may genuinely not know (or be confused about) the different rules we are trying to live by in Scotland.

Would it be possible to get garages to require an adress (or keyworker documentation) before selling fuel? I am an English van dweller who lives in Scotland and makes my living from tourism, so not anti vans or the English and very worried about my finances but even more worried about our safety.

While it would be ideal to stop private vehicles at the border there are many roads crossing the border and it is unlikely that all could be manned. It would be relatively simple to make sure there was a clear sign on every road stating that only Scottish residents, commercial deliveries and essential workers are allowed to cross into Scotland. Have random periodical checks on each crossing to enforce it, then report and prosecute every traveller found to have violated that order wherever they are found in Scotland. We can't alter the ridiculous changes made by the PM for England but we do need to mitigate their effect on Scotland as far as we possibly can.

    Nonsense.

There will be no point in Scotland delaying lockdown if English people can come up here on holiday. This needs to be seen as a priority.

Scotland is part of the UK and its border is for minor administrative purposes only - this idea is ridiculous as there is no real inter country border infrastructure in existence and nor should there be.

If we are to eliminate this virus, we must do everything to keep the virus out of Scotland. Tourists from England -or anywhere else - must be kept out of Scotland, or all our extra efforts to beat Covid-19 will be to no avail.

I read online the same argument about this
If Wales can do it we can too
I believe when their was the foot and mouth epidemic transport was stopped coming into Scotland, filtering vehicles into a single line
I don’t know the answer but if we are going to save lives I believe this is a priority

shouldn't just be done at the border use ANPR to identify vehicles a long distance from their home - and stop them, which is already happening.
