Let’s be allowed onto the hills again! Promise I’ll take care on the roads, promise I’ll take care and not have an accident - like the huge percentage of walkers. Promise I won’t be a burden on the NHS and mountain rescue. Accidents are rare compared to the number of people hours on the hills. And I solemnly promise to keep at least 2m from anybody else LOL.

I promise as well, I don't need to do anything different than that which I've been already doing for over 20 years. No MRT required, disclaimer on windscreen.

LOW RISK if own transport used - distancing is highly possible. Advisable to allow if own transport used.

HIGH RISK if public transport used - would advise against being allowed to use public transport for the time being.

    I support this proposal.

Responsible wild campers adhere to the recognised/strict guidelines - and by ensuring own transport used, adhering to all other guidelines etc - this represents a low risk approach.

The downside of easing travel restrictions to enable this - potentially increases the number of people having the freedom of travelling to the more popular day-trip locations and therefore parking congestion in car parks (should they be open) or on the roadside - and risk of people relaxing social distancing. This issue probably does not apply to wild campers due to lower numbers and easy ability to maintain distance and preference for locations away from the norm.

Excellent proposal. The hills and coastline should be opened for outdoor recreation. Wild camping, kayaking, fishing, hill-walking - all such activities can be carried out in isolation (or bubbles). Risk of RTA is low and could be mitigated by policing and speed reducing measures.

Responsible wild camping should definitely be allowed, also use of camper vans for this. As long as you leave no trace, don't go to far and keep to social distancing

This needs to be discussed with Scottish Mountain Rescue as the burden will fall on them. Many of the team members are key workers in the health service, police, fire brigade, etc.

However experienced we are, we make mistakes or have accidents.

Stay local for now until the data tells us otherwise?
