Why the contribution is important

Fishing provides good exercise, mental well being. Has been proven to help with all manner of mental issues.

I have a boat on Loch Tay on private property on a private mooring, I am finding it difficult to understand why I cant use my boat, since I am not in contact with anyone else at any time. I would find it a great boon to my physical and mental wellbeing to be allowed access to my boat.
    Thank you

If it doesn't involve people traipsing through fields, gates etc and no out of city travelling to the country then I think fly fishing should be resumed. it is very good for the soul.

I myself would love to get into my sea kayak and go fishing and head of across the firth of forth, but there is a difference between fishing from land and a vessel at sea or even just of the shoreline. If people start to take to the water and get in difficulties that would strain the emergency services more and increase contact for our front line workers. So I think that is a good reason not to allow people to start sailing or using boats, but fishing from land could be allowed.

Local anglers should be able to use fisheries in their local area. Anglers don’t like fishing close to others so it’s a natural social distancing sport. I would expect all to follow the strict hand washing regime and normal safety practices while out and on returning home.

Fishing is primarily done alone and I certainly am in favour of it being allowed .
I would add in addition to the governments established rules on safe sensible distancing the angler should (1) not have driven more than 30 minutes to the fishing location, (2) Carry and use sanitiser for use after opening any gate etc.

Very good idea👍🏻. I agree, fishing is also a form of exercise and it is a solo sport allowing you to fish on the canal or the beach.
