Reduce the 2m limit to 1m

In line with advice given by the WHO, available at www.who.int, we should reduce the distance needed to be maintained between members of the public from 2 meters to 1 meter.

Why the contribution is important

This would help to ease pressure for commercial and public buildings and public transport providers. However it would also underline a need for the continuation of a degree of social distancing.

I've yet to see anyone give 2m of distance...

I suggest a variation which is to ease this for interactions shorter than 15 minutes. Current guidance isn’t pragmatic and causes unnecessary anxiety , plus it doesn’t match with advice given originally by clinical advisor who said that risk was low if we spent a short period of time with others.

The 2m is not randomly picked it’s how far the virus travels when someone coughs speaks while standing still. Running cycling it travels much further that’s just physics. The virus lands on surfaces and can be picked up from a surface. you are a surface to a virus someone standing beside you coughs it lands on you it doesn’t matter 1 minute or 15 minutes. Obviously 15 minutes more risk of someone coughing. Should increase 2m if anything
