Reducing venue capacity

Reducing a venues capacity will allow restaurants/ pubs and clubs to look after the welfare of their customers.
If a venue was allowed 100 customers in, reducing the number to 50 would increase available social distancing space.

Why the contribution is important

Being allowed out to socialise. Allowing venues to open. Venue employees able to return to work.

While it's a nice idea it's not as simple as just reducing the capacity.

Firstly, the vast majority of venues are rarely at capacity so 50% reduction may mean its business as usual.

Secondly, each building floor plan and layout is different. And once you factor staff in you may be able to only have 5-10 customers....at which point the business cannot make enough money.

Agree in principle, however appropriate revised capacity would need to be assessed and approved for each individual venue.

There are problems involved but we have to start somewhere and this seems like a reasonable starting point.
