Reduction in council tax

Reduce council tax during the lockdown while many self employed people have no income and are waiting for the self employment scheme and other workers are furloughed and struggling financially

Why the contribution is important

Council tax is one of the biggest bills most of us pay.

A reduction for the next couple of months will help many of us manage our outgoings while on a reduced income.

We are already being made to continue paying car tax and insurance, despite not being able to use our cars. So why can we not have a council tax reduction?

In addition, many councils have reduced their services (no recycling collection etc) - so why are we being asked to continue paying the same for services we are not receiving?

Women born in the 50's who have had their State Pension Stolen For 6 yrs by UK Govt, have received no help at all, despite most having accrued well over 40 plus years NI. 92k have already died pensionless and many in ill health forced into gig economy at front line of virus in order to heat or eat. No help afforded in Chancellors payment scheme despite the W+P committee indicating they are 'grotesquely disadvantaged' Time that Scot Gov stepped up to the mark and valued these women and removed the excessive cncl tax charges.

Councils are on their knees with reduced revenue from chargeable services. This is a bad idea.
