Regional lifting of restrictions

I would be happy to see the lifting of lockdown approached differently in different parts of the country, (though appreciate that there may be challenges policing this)

Why the contribution is important

1. Different regions have different needs, different population densities and different rates of infection. A suitable one size fits all solution would seem highly improbable.

2. There is a need to get the economy and interpersonal relationships moving again where/when it is safe to do so,...and for the rest of us to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel . Small steps are better than nothing

A person after my own heart in this matter. I couldn't agree more with this suggestion. It makes complete sense to get the country moving even if it's a small town at a time 👏👏👏

I have my doubts when it comes to enforcing this idea, also the definition of 'region' needs to be addressed. What about people who e.g. live in Glasgow and need to commute to work to Edinburgh? Or, if 'region' is e.g. Scotland/England border - people living in Gretna Green and working in Carlisle? This approach needs very careful consideration regarding enforcement and also the effect on daily lives.

It may be difficult to police this but it is clear looking at the stats that rural areas do not have as big an issue. These areas should be able to open up; or travel to other similar areas. These are the areas that would suffer huge economic issues if there were major job losses.

Sensible idea, Scotland is a big country with many variations, I live in a rural part of the Highlands and have a reasonably large garden my situation is very different from someone who lives in a flat in a city. It is relatively easy for people in rural areas to practice social distancing. Restrictions could be eased starting in the islands and moving to rural areas on the mainland

Seems reasonable though I'd like to see all restrictions lifted.

If it can be managed effectively and safely I would support this proposal.
