REGULAR DEEP CLEANING OF SCHOOLS

Schools should be deep cleaned weekly, due to large numbers in secondary schools sharing desks, equipment, laptops, pencils, etc. Think of it hundreds of pupils a day, moving round one undersized badly ventilated building. Local Authorities are trying to save cash by not putting this into practice. Even if the building is modern, up to 30 pupils sit two feet away from each other for hours a day. Then being kids go to get something to eat without washing hands, you get my drift...
It is therefore up to LA’s to take on this responsibility seriously or partially close schools down. If there is a germ in a school it goes round like wildfire, hardly anybody escapes it leading to high sickness rates, the LA’s don’t like that either and punish staff for being off!

Why the contribution is important

In this day and age now especially since covid19 and possible other new viruses coming our way, the whole system of how and where education is orchestrated should be looked into seriously, it’s a big ask, but the lives of our kids and staff is at stake.

Deep cleaning needs to be a huge priority as previously schools were not cleaned to an adequate standard. I suggest schools are deep cleaned every day especially hard surfaces. There is talk of pupils being self sufficient not sharing text books and pencils. I think we are a long way off resolving this.

The cleaning of schools has been much reduced in recent times and this deep cleaning must happen to contribute to the safety of staff and pupils
