Remind supermarket staff re social distancing

Having visited our local Sainsbury’s yesterday and queued For over 15 minutes at a social distance it was very noticeable that the staff were not practising this at all, the Click and Collect area had 3 staff, none were wearing masks or gloves and were standing beside each other and chatting . Likewise staff collecting trolleys from bays, no disinfectant or gloves etc. Inside the store many staff were talking to each other , no tannoy announcements, nothing to clean your trolleys or baskets (unlike Lidl), no protection worn by staff apart from one wearing a mask. It was as if one set of rules for customers and another for staff.

Why the contribution is important

Rules are for everyone, supermarkets are seeing record sales but paying lip service to staff safety

Supermarkets are not following the safe distance rules .it may look good from the outside were people are queuing but once inside it's a free for all .no one making sure the public adheres to the rules. Not even the staff are following rules .

Shelf stacking while stores are open bothers me. I understand the pressure staff are under, but surely management could arrange even to close an hour in the middle of the day to deal with shelves being re stocked, cleaned etc. I've also seen staff stacking shelves with no protection and shoppers breathing down their necks. Sainsbury worst offender!

Local Tesco yesterday, asked to step behind a 3 metre line away from checkout......then staff stood within a metre of each other and myself gossiping while I was unloading my shopping onto the belt......no idea of social distancing and a bit of a power trip for the little dictators among them. Make supermarkets all self service, if they can't abide by guidelines.
