Reopen dental surgeries

Reopen dental surgeries provided they can do so in a way which protects dental staff working there

Why the contribution is important

Many people are in a lot of pain from tooth related problems due to being unable to access a dentist. There are dental appointments available for dental emergencies but they are difficult to access due to high demand. As a result some people are resorting to DIY dental surgery to try and deal with problem themselves.

Scotland has put a lot of work into being a good place for children to grow up . It needs to safely open up dentists and give oral health a place in health prevention .

    Scotland’s oral health
is being seriously affected by dentists not working. Their safety and that of their staff is paramount and they should be supplied with PPE to the highest level and be able to get back to work as soon as possible.

With the proper PPE can orthodontists not be allowed to open. Some patients have not been seen for over 18 weeks now as their 12 week appointment was cancelled at the start of lockdown. Braces are requiring to be fixed for a lot of people.
