Reopen Recycling Sites

During lockdown, many people have turned to clearing out their homes / gardens / garages. Disposing of excess goods / waste has been impossible due to the ongoing closure of recycling sites (tips / dumps). This has created stockpiling around people’s homes and in extreme cases, fly tipping.

Why the contribution is important

Having a clear out gives people something to do during lockdown. Although regular refuse collection remains in place, special uplifts and recycling sites remain unavailable to the public. This compounds frustration and should be reinstated as a priority measure.

Allow limited numbers in at any one time (1-in-1-out). Also introduce garden waste collections (with an appropriate charge). This would reduce car trips and need to use recycling centres - helps the environment.
