reporting if data

Reporting of Covid is varied across the UK. Whilst it seems widely accepted that weekend figures lag behind the Monday to Friday figures it would beneficial to see a split of care home deaths versus the wider population. This may give some a better sense of optimism that the rate of infection and related deaths are not flatlining. As horrible as it is if the majority of deaths are now within care home situations this may make the wider public a bit more accepting of whatever steps the government stipulate next.

Once schools and workplaces start to re-open the data should be presented for infections and deaths linked to these actions. Too much is unknown about this virus for a proper course of action to be implemented whilst knowing the impact that it is making on the spread.

Why the contribution is important

I think it is important for the full picture to be presented to the public. Stating that x number of deaths was added in a day is not a true reflection of what is really going on. As sad as it is if care homes account for more than 50% of deaths then this is a shift showing that lockdown can probably be eased in a controlled manner whilst still allowing for data gathering to be achieved allowing next steps to be more informed.

This is a great idea. While it is vitally important to count every death , when we are looking for a way out of lock down it is key to know where the deaths are occurring as the appropriate actions could be very different

Why do we continue showing graphs from around the world but when we get an update it’s said we are not comparing ourselves with other countries. Why show the graphs if that is the case.
