Research on CoVid treatments FUNDING

Dear MSPs

I wish to appreciate the Scottish Government effort and that of the scientific indefatigable team in bringing an end to this global CoVID-19 pandemic that has affected the world. I believe aside from the numerous collective studies on the corona virus in Laboratories across the world, individual researchers have roles to play since this is a common enemy attacking humanity.

Given the peculiarities of this virus I am convince that scientific research on hormonal changes can bring lot of light to understand the body mechanisms to fight covid. I have done some researches and there are many unknowns around covid that hormones explain - particularly increase in PROLACTIN and decrease in DOPAMINE –which will be helpful at this time.

It is in the light of this that I wish to draw your attention to my findings in medical endocrinology which you might find useful or might be helpful in developing a perfect strategy to end this global war on the virus and its aftermaths.

In a single centre study conducted this year, where certain sex (LH ,T/LH ) and sex related hormones ( Prolactin) were noted to be significantly altered guided us to a pointer about the influence of presenting medical conditions of CoViD-19 on pertinent sex related hormonal functions. This thus alertsmore attention to gonadal function evaluation and clinical assessment of the altered effect of prolactin (hyperprolactinemia) in patients with or already recovered from the acute stages of the viral progression.

To understand the covid we need to understand the endocrine system and the conexions of glutathione ADMST13, oxidative stress and prolactin. A hyperprolactimia van explain the cytokine storm. The balance is very fragile. Different doses of glutathione can inhibit or increase prolactin. In the same way NAC has different effects in prolactin depending on dose and depending on gender. Different changes and symptoms can be explained by understanding hormones interactions studying prolactin and vit D, Magnesium and Calcium and their cardiovascular and hormonal signalling pathways implications.

It is very interesting to notice that when the lungs get better the next thing to observe is other symptoms affecting the heart and blood pressure. More Research on this is needed, there are important links on this phenome that can bring hope to treat covid patients.

Why is there is no research on hormonal changes - in particular on PROLACTIN and DOPAMINE levels to understand immune response and how the body can be reinforced against covid? Can you bring the expertise of neurological-endocrinologist experts to the research about covid?

We are determined to take this further in an extensive research which might require the government funding on research by providing technical support and expertise in contributing to the body of knowledge and helping affected patients recover to their normal state of health.
Thanks

Regards

Why the contribution is important

Although there is funding to research about a vaccine and tests there is not so much funding to research to find a treatment for covid patients. I wish to draw your attention to my findings in medical endocrinology which you might find useful or might be helpful in developing a perfect strategy to end this global war on the virus and its aftermaths. Understanding the hormonal implications on covid symptoms can bring tailored treatments at lower costs and risks. Not only for covid but also for other diseases where oxidative stress and cytokines storm are involved.
