Reset parental leave

Many parents have been unable to work from home, and are not keyworkers. This means they have needed to take some of leave for childcare. As the months draw on, available leave will be depleted. This will lead to financial hardship due to taking unpaid leave. To mitigate this, a parental leave “amnesty” should be performed.

Why the contribution is important

- mitigates the financial hardship experiences by parents - more equitable treatment across society - allows parents and families to use annual leave etc appropriately, improving mental health

    It does make sense, of course. But instead of plugging holes here there and everywhere, a Universal Basic Income would be fairer and much easier to set up.
