Return to school

Might local authorities use church halls community centres or sports centres to increase classroom options for fewer pupils attending classes? Could security be provided and might the education system do as the health system has done and ask final year students to step up to help or ask recently retired teachers to return for a term or two? Perhaps the school day could be somewhat condensed avoiding playtime or lunchtime?

Why the contribution is important

Children will suffer if they do not receive structured tuition especially younger ones who perhaps cannot discipline themselves to study at home. Class sizes should be reduced to protect staff and allow social distancing.

If half of the pupils went to school Monday and Tuesday. Then deep clean Wednesday. The other half could go Thursday and Friday with another deep clean Saturday. All pupils get a breakfast and lunch, all schools could be reopened. Break time each class has own area of school grounds to play in. Pupils arrive and leave by class number. Limiting social contact and one parent brings to school and collects.
