I think that, if conditions can be met re social distancing, hygiene etc, P7 pupils should be invited back to school in early June to assist them in transitioning to S1.
I believe it important to let the young students have a few half day familiarisation visits to their "new big school"
I would hope that this could be worked out that they attend 3 days 1 week then 2 the next. I think that even odd half days with their fellow pupils/friends would let them all move on with confidence instead of a fear of the unknown.

Why the contribution is important

I firmly believe that the move from P7 to S1 is a very important event in the life of 11/12 year olds. Especially so as the pupils/young students have missed out on their final term on "what should be the happiest says of your life"!!
My dear granddaughter this week is missing out on the P7 four day trip to an outward bound course in Lockerbie, she and her friends have been looking forward to this trip since November last year.
Acting parts in the school show and sports day participation in June.......
All important parts of gaining confidence, life skills, team building etc have been taken away from her and all P7's
