There should be a phased re-opening of tennis courts where social distancing can still be enforced through for example playing singles games only and / or ensuring spacing between courts - so for example, if there are 3 courts available to play on then only two courts can be used with the middle court remaining empty, and similarly, if 2 courts are available then only 1 can be used.

This phased re-opening should be applicable to both tennis clubs and public tennis courts.

Players should ensure that they wash their hands before, during and after playing their games.

This phased re-opening should also apply to other sports where safe social distancing can still be enforced - such as golf, badminton, table tennis, etc - it just needs to ensure that number of players are limited and social distancing managed.

Why the contribution is important

This is important for both physical exercise and mental wellbeing since sport is a good way to keeping good health and mental wellbeing. With lockdown, many people have lacked physical exercise through sport, and not everyone is into cycling or walking or running. It is fine if you are already into cycling or running as you are able to maintain your sporting passion during this coronavirus situation, but it seems unfair to other people who have other sporting passions such as tennis and golf where social distancing can still be safely maintained.

Thus, it is important to ensure that people's sporting interests are widened as much as possible to maintain a healthier Scotland during a time when people can become idle and potentially contribute to Scotland's obesity problem.
