Shielded Hour

I’m shielding and I live in a flat with a shared garden which is too busy to be safe for me. I’ve been in my flat for 7 weeks (lucky to be safe and working from home on full pay).

Other countries in Europe have had a dedicated hour in evening for shielders only to get some exercise could Scotland do something similar?

Why the contribution is important

Being inside for 7 weeks is tough on mental and physical health for many and with the likelihood this is for much longer for the shielded some fresh air and exercise would be very welcome.

I think this is a great idea to improve shielder's mental and physical health.

Great idea - perhaps the people supporting you with shopping etc could talk to the other users of the garden and negotiate an arrangement locally?

I agree that there needs to be a time set aside for those who are shielding to get outside for a walk. I have am following guidance to stay at home for 12 weeks, however as it is now likely there will be plans to allow people out for exercise twice a day, I feel I am in the forgotten category. The streets will be even busier. As someone who did a lot of walking in the normal working day, this is a very unhealthy lifestyle for me.

Brilliant idea and I completely agree with the comments about the impact on the mental ad physical health of those of us having to shield. I have also heard the suggestion made that there could be a shielded shopping hour.
