Single occupancy households

Please allow single household occupants to set up a 2 persons 'bubble'

Why the contribution is important

It is now 56 days since I (and many other single occupancy households) have had any actual human contact, i.e. the physical presence of another human being in the same room as me. Many people who are not in the high risk group have lived this reality while in New Zealand they successfully allowed people form 2 persons 'bubbles' as they recognised that this is pivotal to human mental health.

Agree 100 %. I'm a very happy contented person but this lockdown has turned me into a sad wrecj some days. We NEED human contact for the sake of our mental health. There is going to be a dramatic increase in suicides and alcoholism due to this. Let us see one other person we beg you.

This is so important to keep people safe mentally. If neither person has shown or is showing symptoms it would seem reasonable to allow them to spend time together

I think this is so important. I couldn’t agree more!

Bless you Berni, I feel for you. I’m lucky as I have a dog but don’t know how I’d have coped without her.
Stay well, hopefully we’ll be allowed the privileges of multiple households soon, ie human interaction!

Agreed. I would generally support evidence that suggests we should be shielding vulnerable groups only. This would also focus financial support on those most in need. As someone currently living alone, yet not vulnerable it feels very unnecessary.

Could even be a bubble with 1 other household, single person or multiple.

This should be part of a wider "bubble-building" provision that allows for bubbles for single-ocupancy households, for defined family groups, even for small groups of friends.
