Solo Sport

I believe that it would be relatively safe to allow solo outdoor sports, or sports that can be adapted for practi practising alone.

I am thinking, personally, about my archery which is practised alone in a wooded area, but other sports, such as golfing alone could be allowed too.

Walking and cycling are currently allowed during the lockdown and the activities mentioned are little different in risk.

Why the contribution is important

Physical activity is important for both the physical and mental health of individuals.

But the habits of doing sporting activities are easily broken. In addition, skills used and physical conditioning needed for the support quickly atrophy. It is good for the standards of the sport for practitioners to maintain their activities.

In addition, the finances of amateurs supporting clubs are often finely balanced. Anything that would stem the inevitable loss of practitioners of the sports that will happen after the lockdown will be helpful.

Retailers will also welcome the return in spending associated with the return of sporting activities to help them survive financially.

This is a no-brainer. The safest place to be at the moment is outside in the open air. All non-contact sports and leisure activities should be allowed to resume asap as a priority. This is crucially important for the health of the nation, especially in Scotland. Our summer season is short enough as it is! People should be actively encouraged to get back to exercising, hiking and walking, alone or in family groups.

good idea in principle. Swamping the Highlands and similar areas with people would be a poor idea while the epidemic us still essentially uncontrolled,
