Support a Cashless Society

The government should work with businesses and banks to support a Cashless society, accelerate the use of contact less and card payments.

Why the contribution is important

This will reduce the risk of passing disease through notes and coins. It will also reduce the amount of people within bank branches, touching atms and queuing at banks and atms.

Cashless transactions between teller and consumer are quicker and safer for all.

Small communities, and small community groups, rely on cash-based fundraisers for a lot of their annual income. They also provide a lot of vital local services that, in big towns and cities, are provided by local authority or by much bigger charities. Smaller and remote communities would become far less sustainable in a cashless society. Donations of small change amount to a lot of money for some groups.
