Surfing

Limiting travel to a short distance, however allowing surfers to take part in their sport.

Why the contribution is important

For some this is not just a hobby but a lifestyle and their living. Allowing those fairly close to the sea to travel a short distance to surf would help improve their frame of mind and really help with mental health issues. I am fairly sure this is the same for a lot of sports activity.

Agree, if travel to golf or run is permissable travel to surf should be too. Easy to social distance.

+1 for this. I live in Leith and would feel safer if I could drive to the beach and go out windsurfing where there is plenty of space then go for a run or walk in water of Leith which is always packed with people running, cycling or walking the dogs.

Hundred percent, surfing at your local break is as bout as good as you get for social distancing activities , I can’t run due to hip problems , cycling is statistically far more dangerous and surfing is classed as low risk.

I agree surfing is essential for the mind body and soul. It is more than just a sport or a hobby. It doesn't break any social distancing rules. It is also an activity that relies on the right conditions and cannot be done any time like other activities. Therefore should be allowed in every beach in Scotland.

I agree, the roads are full of groups of cyclists. It is much easier to social distance when surfing than cycling.
