Teachers to work from school

Teachers should be required to work from school, which would allow a much better and consistent learning experience to be provided with better access to learning materials and improved accountability. This could be done easily with complete social distancing.

Why the contribution is important

It looks as if schools will not be operating on a normal basis for some time to come, which means that the current arrangements which are very variable across the country need to be vastly improved.

Teachers and support staff could still be at work with social distance in place.

Completely unnecessary. Teachers, like most employees, can work from home if children are not in attendance with all the technology available to them and provided by local authorities.

Those saying that children can get the same education from home are endangering the livelihoods of children by taking away valuable educational development. Home schooling will never be the same as a proper education in a classroom.

School has to be safe for pupils and also the staff who have to work there. Pupils can learn from home not the same as school but safer at the moment through technology. Ensure all children have the equipment to do so

Why should teachers work from school when the guidance says to work from home? An unnecessary journey. Child care for their children- use of hubs would increase. The same hubs that teachers and support staff are required to staff.

The guidance says people should work from home where possible. This means teachers and support staff too. A HUGE number of school staff are volunteering to work in the community hubs across the country.

Outwith that, everyone else can work from home to minimise the risk. Also closing schools that aren’t hubs means they don’t need to be deep cleaned daily.

If teachers go back to sit in an empty classroom with a laptop (which they have at home anyway) then clearers would need to come in daily to deep clean, also putting them at risk.

Teachers dont want to work from school, they would rather not teach from home.
