Test trace isolate

Please don’t ease restrictions unless mass testing trace and isolate mechanisms are in place.

Why the contribution is important

Covid will spiral without adequate test trace and isolate.

Agreed. And health service workers should be prioritised.

    This is the key point.
The health service is fighting ths virus blindfolded. We need to know who has got it and warn them and their contacts to isolate.

Most of Scotland is in a good position, but it appears there are a few regions that are lagging in getting the virus R value such as Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Lanark.
TTI as talked about by the First Minister could now be carried out, if there were right resources in place, in the Borders, Dunfries and Galloway, Highlands, Shetlands, Western Isle, Orkneys, Fife, Forth Valley. Would hope this is already being carried out in these regions.
Apart from having TTI there needs to be a focus on the regions that are not doing good at reducing new cases such as the couple above, and others. Probably their lagging in getting the new cases down are hindering rest of the country from having lockdown restrictions eased.

Agreed as proven by Korea to date, technology is the only way to win the battle.

This is important! everyone should be tested, and as often as possible . and those infected must isolate. This is the only way to control the virus in the absence of a vaccine. This should have been done from the start, with all vulnerable groups forced to isolate until tested.

It's important to enable safe movement of people and resumption of our economy that we know who has the virus. We shouldn't get hung up on an arbituary number of test. Instead, anyone who displays symptoms should be immediately tested and with quick results so they can either continue to isolate or return quicker to society. Things we would have found unimaginable before are now more palatable to contemplate to save lives and protect key workers such as sharing data on phones, temperature checks and face masks before gaining entry to supermarkets, shops, offices etc...
