Test, trace, isolate

Not an original idea Nicola, but it's no good just waiting for it to gradually go away. You need to much more proactive. So test, trace and isolate. Otherwise we'll be here forever and things will become unmanageable.

Why the contribution is important

Because not doing this will ruin the Scottish people for years to come.

This is the only way to go forward. If anyone shows any of the Covid symptoms they should be tested immediately and their contacts traced and then isolated. Apps which work properly are the easiest way to go as majority of people have smartphones now and if they don’t , there must be an easy way they could be tracked ie wristbands or GPS trackers. It is an infringement of liberty but if it the only way we can get back to some kind of new normal I would agree

    Totally agree.

Covid is here, and will be with us for some time to come. The ONLY way forward.

This has proven to be the a successful way to control the spread of the virus. It makes so much sense to identify and isolate those with the virus and their contacts, as opposed to continually isolating everyone. It also means the economy can start up again. So it’s key to get testing and use an app to trace and then track ASAP.

Adopt the UK app which is planned to be available 2 weeks before the Hollywood branded one.

Adopt Test Track and Trace as per rest of the UK.

Gear up testing to ensure all people who are to be isolated in this way are referred for testing rather than waiting to see if they end up in hospital.

This is the way forward we need some hard facts to direct our responses. There is no vaccine no treatment other than supportive when illness becomes overwhelming.
We do have a well established network of healthcare facilities in our GP surgeries, a well established network of council and local authority administration. Combined these organisations can identify at risk populations and where they are.
To ramp up testing an army of testers, actual test kits, laboratory facilities to analyse the tests backed up by administrators to log the persons tested and results collated. Plus a method of delivery of the test kits to testing sites, which need to be local, then to labs which will be centralised.
There is at present an available army volunteers that can be mobilised.
Testing is the key coordinated centrally but delivered locally targeting hotspots and high risk groups.

If someone is informed that they have to self-isolate, they should be given support, for instance preferential access to online food delivery. Otherwise, there's a risk of making it too difficult for people to follow TTI.
