Testing at airports

The 14 day quarantine period for people arriving into the UK is too late. It is also a crude method at this stage in dealing with the virus. As with all aspects, we need to add more intelligence to our approach. I understand this is out of your remit but please pressurise a lead the UK in demonstrating that testing can successfully be carried out on arrivals into the UK and remove the need for quarantine. In addition, work with our European partners to agree a testing approach to allow people to move between countries based on an agreed testing plan for all passengers

Why the contribution is important

We cannot stay confined within our own border hoping that a vaccine will arrive. We need to understand better the risk and who is a risk as an individual. Airline travel is vital to the economy but also restoring freedom of movement.

Quarantine seems to have worked in other countries and should have been adopted here from the beginning. Shocking that it wasn't. I think if it's a measure that can protect our residents and control the spread of infection it should be used now.
