This is the time to make a positive change
Lockdown is tough for everyone but as time goes on I am becoming more aware of things I've learnt and advantages to lockdown
1. Less traffic on the roads. I am one of many started cycling to work. I now love it and hope to continue. Less traffic on roads makes it much easier and safer. Closing Kelvin way (Glasgow) of to cars is something I would like to see more of to encourage people to stay physically active and appreciate their environment
2. Developing systems to allow home working much more easily. I can't speak from experience but I'm sure this saves on childcare / travel costs
3. Maintain the current level of respect for NHS. It's so nice to see communities coming together to celebrate the NHS. I'm sure it will be encouraging young people to think of different careers within the NHS
4. Support small businesses instead of supermarkets. Small business near me have been very creative in managing to stay open whilst adhering to social distancing rules. I have found it much easier to shop local then wait in supermarket queues. I have met more local people and you get a feel good feeling from shopping local.

Why the contribution is important
Since we are in a "climate emergency" things have to change. If anyone can do it the Scottish government can.

Prioritise walking and cycling, with a view to public transport networks being improved and utilised when it's safe to do so. Close some roads to traffic to encourage this, and provide cycle lanes where possible.
Home working is a no brainer for those that can, the time saved, money saved and carbon emission reductions will be invaluable.
