Threatening pupils

How do we protect staff and pupils from pupils who are violent and aggressive and in mainstream? These pupils now have a new weapon to hand - spitting. How are staff and peers to be protected? Mainstream classrooms are already under stress with confined spaces and little adult support. All children need to be offered the same opportunity and parents of children with social, emotional and behavioural needs badly need the respite. But I am scared.

I agree-reports in local authority of child coughing deliberately and taunting staff at Hub . Behaviour will have changed with many with lockdown and whatever they have lived with during it and staff will face challenges dealing with new systems as well as settling children back to the new normal at school. Schools will need support -staff numbers and real help not just emails from council DoE etc.

Certainly needs some proper consideration. Consequences and actions. Proper consequences if they offend or it ain't going g to work.
