Trace, isolate

The use of digital data feels like the way out of this situation. Once the R number is lowered, I imagine tracing and isolating is the only way forward. We must look to how other countries are using this effectively.

Why the contribution is important

Tracing and isolating seems to be effective in other countries. Most people, particularly those who are within the age group that are not shielding (because of age), have smart technology.

    This is the way forward. I hope people will be keen to adopt the technology. Unfortunately many people see this as invasive, particularly the tracking part but most seem blissfully unaware that even by having a mobile phone and turning it on can be used to track. Also some third party software that most people have on their phones keeps are record of where you have been anyway....Personally I don't care who tracks me and even less so the government as they won't use my data for commercial gain and lets face it - who is really interested in those trips to Morrisons or Tesco!

    Tracing and tracking those with symptoms will give us real data and enable the virus to be effectively kept under control. This should be prioritised at this stage.
