Travel between Scotland and England

Driving from Scotland to England to visit relatives should be allowed if you prepare food and drinks prior to leaving your house so you do not have to enter any service points apart from fuel for the vehicle. Have social distancing for toilet areas marshalled by a staff member of the service point.

Why the contribution is important

A lot of people have relatives who work in both Scotland and England and do not trust flights, trains etc but driving in your own vehicle means you are not near other people and social distancing can be maintained at stop off points along the journey.

Not a good idea. What if someone gets ill away from their home? It would perhaps mean stretched health services become further stretched and unable to care for as many people. Stay home, stay safe.

It's bad enough the Scottish Government is not following the UK Government in this without imposing things like this.

That would be counterproductive if England lift restrictions. Your family in England would be coming into contact with with people from areas where the evidence says tighter restrictions are necessary. If anything only goods and services should be crossing the border if we take a different approach.
