TTI in the Western Isles

Test, track and isolate on the Western Isles immediately.

Why the contribution is important

With single figure cases on the Western Isles and none as yet on Uist this is a great opportunity to monitor COVID in a manageable way .

    Great idea.

Good idea, however include Shetland also. All movement on and off island can be easily monitored and controlled, was an initially high number of infections per head of population that has stabilised and fallen. Schools closed a week earlier than the rest of Scotland so could be done in conjunction with back to school trials.

A complete distraction. Test Track and Trace needs to be aggressively deployed throughout the UK ASAP.

All this will do is to postpone the inevitable. We need to COVID-19 in the islands now. Otherwise there a future outbreak will see the islands locked down for another 10 weeks plus. You would need to keep outsiders out, and islanders in to make a difference.

The only way around this is a vaccine and the timing of that is uncertain.
