We should be recruiting an army of local tracers to carry out the contact tracing part of the TTIS approach.
There are already schemes in operation in Sheffield which are apparently very effective in operation.
The huge number of volunteers who have already stepped forward at the request of the Scottish Government could be considered.
The local connection would help with local knowledge of geography, supports, organisations, resources for people who may be affected by the virus or arrangements for isolation/support.
The recruitment of up to 2,000 tracers, according to various academics and international experience, is an inadequate number and should be reviewed urgently and this suggestion to be considered.
Thanks
