Under 45s

A news paper article today says that during the whole pandemic so far U.K. wide less than 400 of those who have died are under 45 years old. With the majority being 65 +

Why the contribution is important

We need to start getting the economy going. Perhaps getting those least affected back to work sooner and moving about would help our economy. If as other reports state 1/3 of our Scottish work force will be unemployed or furloughed by the end of June then there are going to be huge challenges ahead

I’m concerned with this line of thinking could potentially
1.) lead to discrimination of the population that is 45 and older.
          a. An employer might consider to furlong employees over 45 without underlying health conditions
          b. An employer might insist an employee who is under 45 with a underlying health condition to return to work.
2.) increase infection levels for the population that is under 45.
           a. Pass Covid-19 on to others (no matter the age)

As a short term measure to get society back on its feet i see this as a very sensible idea (and i am over 50 myself).
