Use of public and national parks

The current regulations of public parks are too restrictive and should be abandoned. Most of the research on viral transmission (both covid & non covid viruses) indicates that transmission out of doors is a minimal risk. In a free society, people should be able to use these public spaces, with appropriate social distancing measures in place, for things like picnics, sunbathing and general relaxing.

Why the contribution is important

Particularly across the central belt, a significant portion of the population lives in homes with no outdoor space. Being indoors in a flat aside from going to the shop for food had damaging effects on the mental health of a great number of people.
As most workplaces are closed and people are also working in their homes, this is exacerbating the problem.
It is also well recognised that getting some air more particularly some sun (Vitamin D) is good for peoples immune systems.

It's very important to get the police out of parks and let people walk, cycle and sit in the sunshine. This is vital to the physical and mental wellbeing of a lot of people who are couped up in tenements and high flats without garden space. Fresh air and sunshine are important to combat viruses generally and to boost immunity and good health.

Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times in parks. Allowing dogs to roam freely , restricts the use of the park for other users.

Agree with this but also can we be allowed to go to the National Parks and beaches say within a 30 miles of where we live. People who live in coastal towns have access to their beaches but still drive 5 to 10 miles for their shopping despite having local stores some of which are major chains such as Co-op and Tesco. I find walking along beach great for both me and partners mental health come rain or shine.

If people were to sit more than 4 metres apart then others could still walk between those seated.
