Varying Approaches Between Those Shielded and the Rest of the Population

Continue lockdown / the necessary support for the most vulnerable who require shielding and allow some normality to resume for the rest of the population. This allows people discretion in the way they act - the majority of those who catch coronavirus are not going to overwhelm the NHS. It is very very important to consider the long-term impacts of lockdown on the physical and mental wellbeing of those who would not really be at risk if they were to catch the virus.

Why the contribution is important

It would allow some sort of normality to resume, whilst protecting the most vulnerable.

depends very much on the definition of vulnerable. Blanket restrictions due to age will leave many feeling very unfairly restricted.

Agree. If the majority of the population will get a mild illness or asymptomatic only, it follows that the NHS would not be overwhelmed by allowing those who are not vulnerable or extremely vulnerable /caring for someone who is, to resume some form of normality. Would always be under review anyway.

I think realistically this is the only way forward in this situation. We have to balance long term damage to health and the economy against the current situation and the best way to do this is to protect the vulnerable and get others back to work
