Visit nominated people

I would like to see my boyfriend again, i stay in Scotland he in England, love to be able to nominate 2 people you are allowed to travel to and visit.

Why the contribution is important

Haven’t seen him and i also haven’t got family around, i feel i’m a prisoner in my own house and my mental health is at breaking point.

I too live alone and my closest friends live down South. I have no family and am likewise at breaking point and frequently on the verge of suicide. The sacrifice made by those living alone is far greater than those living with others and priority needs to be given to end our suffering. Equally psychiatry and psychology services need to be reinstated in full for patients, not just staff, and the policy of downgrading urgent referrals to routine, needs to be stopped. GPs know their patients and their opinions must be respected. Severe illness cannot be treated by charities offering very short term interventions with counsellors not psychologists for mild and moderate anxiety or depression. The 2 tier access to psychology services for NHS staff versus members of the public needs to be reversed immediately. All mentally ill people need to be able the same standard of treatment and this is currently not the case; those who are not ill are able to access listening services whether cpn or volunteer led, those who are ill need specialist input.

Visiting a small number of nominated individuals would be a good way of opening up society again. It would be preferable if these people were within a specific geographical area to reduce risks associated with travel (which wouldn’t resolve the topic starter’s problem! Sorry)

Like many, I support the social bubble ideas with close family or those considered to be family in the comments. I moved to Scotland just before this crisis happened. I have no family and no social circle to speak of yet, and will be unlikely to form any sort of support network whilst restrictions are in place. Being able to go visit elderly parents and my siblings in Wales is my top priority and eagerly await clarification from the Scottish and UK Governments on when and how this might be possible.
