Voluntary return to school and improved home learning.

Families who are unable to homeschool should be offered the opportunity for their children to return to school (with free school meals).
Families who are able to homeschool should still do so with much improved guidelines from educational bodies so that they can bring their children forward in line with the curriculum requirements.

Why the contribution is important

Some children don’t have computers, laptops etc.. to allow them to follow home learning. The attainment gap will widen should they not be offered education.
Able families can homeschool if they know what their children are expected to learn within each term.

this wouldn’t solve much. The children of key workers would go to school, alongside the children of students and those receiving benefits. This would leave only a minority of children being home schooled and voluntarily ‘shielded’ It’s a bit unfair to have some kids ‘protected ‘ at home and other kids out in schools with a virus lurking. We need to put safeguards in school for teachers and all children and stop segregation .

Local authorities are providing IT for families to close attainment gap to help with home learning. Glasgow city council provided every pupil with an iPad. Other local authorities are sending IT home to families to help

Allow children back that are not learning from home. My son has ADHD and cannot cope with homeschooling, on top of that I am trying to work from home and teach my daughter. My son needs to go back to senior school
