Wellbeing measure versus GDP

stop using GDP as measure of economic success; it is flawed and does not show the value of a nation in terms of what is important for the wellbeing of society

Why the contribution is important

GDP is a limited measure
We have learned what really matters during this crisis- what is essential value-added work, what is meaningful- it’s about connection, making a positive difference, helping each other, leaving no one behind.

Agree. I also think we need better and accessible communication to the public about what the economy really is. Many people just think the economy is money and stocks & shares. The public need real life illustrations of what the economy really means for society and how it can in turn have an impact on lost lives too.

Yes - it's time to rethink what we 'officially' value in our country. I would add to the listed values above looking after the environment, which is one of Scotland's greatest assests.

Lovely idea but it is GDP that pays for the NHS, teachers, fire service and the police.
