Why does the moderator refuse to accept votes and comments on gardening centres reopening?

I can walk round the garden section of B & Q but am not able to do the same at our local garden centre....why not?? Open garden centres and apply the same regulations as supermarkets and DIY stores.

Why the contribution is important

It is important for people to maintain and enjoy their gardens for wellbeing reasons.

There are a number of ideas and comments around reopening garden centres. You can view them here: https://www.ideas.gov.scot/covid-19-a-framework-for-decision-making/search?text=garden&sort_order=most_comments&undefined=Search&_authenticator=e60efeab79f1830098b01f07eba2dc9ac6bc779d

This is the most critical time of year for garden centres. If people can buy plants and other garden items in B&Q and some supermarkets then please let garden centres open under the same social distancing rules. Gardening is a useful and pleasing hobby to give people some satisfaction and sense of well being while at home but outdoors. Plants could be purchased by pre-order and collect at prearranged time or delivered by garden centre.

I see B and Q and Sainsburys selling plants and yet our third generation local nursery business which is mostly open air displays is not to open. This is a vital time of year for their business with hundreds of thousands of pounds at stake and people crying out for bedding plants which will maybe have to be destroyed. This is probably the single most nonsensical aspect of the whole lockdown.
