Communities coming together to provide support for young people

There should be support for young people and families, particularly those who have difficulties.

Communities and volunteers can provide support and resources to make life more stable for young people and, for example, help young people into the labour market.

Self-help groups can be small scale and identify a need and then provide a community response.

For example, on Skye there is a drop in to support children excluded from school. These need to be community-led schemes, as one size does not fit all.

Why the contribution is important

This is important as communities know best what is needed, being in the best place to provide it.
