Education needs to be adapted to meet the needs of all young people and not just to fit the curriculum

The needs of the child should be the focus of all education, not the needs of the curriculum. Some students are not academic and are losing out, as their abilities don’t fit with what is being taught. Education needs to be adapted to meet the needs of all young people and not just the most academic.

Why the contribution is important

Education is a basic right for all and should not just meet the needs of the most academic.

From the Fairer Scotland Inverness Planning Event:

Schools also need to teach a wide range of skills for life, including health, parenting, fitness, money skills and relationships. There should be lots of options to allow young people to follow their interests and skills.
