Equal opportunities for young people in urban and rural areas

There need to be more opportunities for young people to participate in employment and training, activities, youth groups and sport opportunities, particularly in rural areas. The cost of accessing these opportunities means that not everyone can use them.

Why the contribution is important

Everyone should have equal access to services and there needs to be urban-rural parity.

From the Fairer Scotland Inverness Planning Event:

The cost of accessing these opportunities does indeed mean not everyone can use them. For example, some young people do not want courses in further education - but they have no choice. This makes it harder for them in the labour market.
