Decisions about central government funding for local areas should be made at a local level

Local councils were best placed to make decisions about local areas, and what would be best for local people. Democracy is improved when decisions are made locally about local funding.

Why the contribution is important

This is important because people feel that money is not spent on the right things for the community, and that it could be better spent. They suggested that the reason is because the central government is too far removed from local areas to know what the locality needs.
