Devolve powers over drug policy to allow for better treatment

Drug and alcohol abuse were a particular problem in Scotland, but the full range of powers to tackle them did not rest with the Scottish Government. Securing devolution of all relevant powers would allow for full integration of services. More ‘joined-up’ services would enable health professionals, police and community services to work together to help people overcome problems.

Why the contribution is important

This is important because people felt that there are many issues relating to drug and alcohol problems that are not treated as well as they could be because services are not joined up.
