Safe Housing for all and integrated communities

Housing should be safe for everyone. No one should live in fear of crime, either in their home or community. There are easy measures that can be taken when building houses to prevent crime. Also simple preventative measures can make homes much safer. This support should be targeted at vulnerable people.

People should also be safe from hate crime. An example we heard was people saying they did not want to live near a person with learning difficulties. Communities should be diverse and mixed, with everyone seen as valuable and contributing.

Why the contribution is important

This is important as everyone should feel safe in their home and welcome in their community.
