Mental health support for people returning to work

Mental health affects almost everyone at some stage. There is need to reduce the stigma and increase the support to individuals and employers to help people get back to work and support them once they are back at work.

The NHS should be good at this as an employer, but is not.

Why the contribution is important

This is important because mental health problems are widespread and support is limited or non-existent - which can lead to good and productive people being excluded from the workforce unnecessarily.

People often want to help and don't know how, or feel scared. With a bit of support, they would be able to.
